Halloween 2009

I knew Emma would love Halloween this year, because she knew what it was about a little bit more than last year. We started “shopping” for her costume in August. We looked on website after website to find what she wanted to be…Kitty Cat, princess, insect, bug, etc. We looked and looked. Finally we decided on Silvermist from Tinkerbell. We had the costume, we were excited and all. Then, the week before Halloween hits. Emma changes her mind, like a typical female does. She decides she wants to be a kitty cat instead. I of course start to panic thinking we will never find ears and a tail that close to Halloween. Other than that, she could just wear black clothes. We were extemely lucky in finding the purrfict ears and tail.

The day before Halloween, we headed to our church AUMC for the annual Trunk or Treat hosted by the Children’s ministry. Emma LOVED it. She would trick or treat, jump in the bounce house, trick or treat, eat pizza and cotton candy (not really, maybe a bite), trick or treat, run around. Emma had a blast. She was so excited and loved every minute of it.

Halloween night, we dressed as a kitty again. I wasn’t sure if she would switch back to Silvermist or not…We headed out around the neighborhood to see what everyone was up to. We ran into our neighbors and enjoyed seeing their costumes. After our street and one other, Emma had had enough skipping, singing and running through the streets. Actually, she would have probably gone all night long, but she had had two busy nights. Emma LOVED this night as well. She was so happy the whole time. It was such a wonderful sight to see. I can’t wait to see what next years Halloween is like!
