Ft. Worth Zoo
Last Thursday, Emma and I headed up to Fort Worth to hang out with Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Matt before Christina’s wedding. They spoiled us rotten. Friday morning they took Emma and Dean to the Ft Worth Zoo. I stayed home, since I wasn’t feeling well. They had a blast. I kept expecting them home around 1-1:30. I think they made it home by 3 or so.
They enjoyed seeing the giraffes, rhinos, penguins, crocodiles, monkeys, feeding the birds, picnic lunch, meeting Roxane, eating strawberry ice cream, riding the train, and much much more. Uncle Matt did a great job taking tons of pictures and video.
THANKS AUNT LINDSEY AND UNCLE MATT FOR A GREAT DAY!
Christina’s Wedding
Last weekend we headed up to Arlington for Travis’ cousin, Christina’s wedding. She was marrying a fellow Red Raider and Music major, Travis Hyde.
Emma and I went up Thursday to stay with Lindsey and have a baby sitter so I could enjoy the wedding festivities. Thursday night was Bachelorette Party fun, Friday Rehearsal and Rehearsal dinner and Saturday the Wedding and Reception A.K.A—THE PARTY as Emma would call it.
CONGRATS Christina and Travis.
Ballet
Today was Emma’s first day of dance class. We knew we wanted to sign her up for some sort of class be it gymnastics, soccer, t-ball or dance. We debated for the longest time, but finally decided on dance. Emma is always dancing around the house and jamming to music. She loves to dance.
Last week was suppose to be her first class…We had a HUGE fit and Emma refused to put on her leotard, so we didn’t go. I was afraid I was going to have to cancel the classes. On Monday, we went to watch another class in session. She enjoyed watching, so I was hoping today would be better.
Today we get up and I crossed my fingers the day would be different. IT WAY! She got dressed, we put her hair up and she did great. She was excited to run into the class and follow directions. They did stretching, first position, bar work, follow the leader, waiting their turn and much more. It was a very long hour. Emma was worn out and starving after dance. Hopefully, the next few weeks will go the same. Check out Em in her cute leotard and doing her moves!
Alpha Chi Girls Weekend
This past weekend was our SFA Alpha Chi annual reunion at my parents lake house. The lake house was packed with 7 girls/women: MJ, Les, Gail, Kena, Natalie, Luanne, and Jen. Jen, Kena and I were all sorority sisters and roommates all 4 years at SFA. We were also all education majors, so we spent a lot of time together. Natalie was also an Alpha Chi at SFA and is also Kena’s sister in law.
The trip was filled with laying out, eating, shopping, eating, drinking wine, eating, talking, eating, and laughing. The weekend flew by, but was tons of fun. Check out our pictures below!
Children’s Museum
Today we ventured out to the Children’s museum for a Fun Monday. We also hadn’t seen the new addition to the museum. If you haven’t seen the new stuff…IT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! It is geared more for the younger child. Emma had a great time in Kidtropolis. Kidtropolis mirrors a real city, complete with its own city hall, municipal building, mercantile center, bank, news center, market, diner, art school, and even a vet clinic. They even had a climbing area, Emma really enjoyed. After visiting Kidtropolis and the other younger child areas, we painted faces, had lunch, then headed out to the water works area. We didn’t hang out there very long, because it was really hot and honestly, Emma HATES getting wet. It was a great day. After seeing the new addition, I am seriously considering a membership and going more often. Emma LOVED it! Check out our fun pics:
Old McDonald’s Farm
Since today was the first day of summer, we decided to meet up with Brooke, Emily, and John Hebert. None of us had been to the farm before, so we really didn’t know what to expect. We arrived at 10, so we could get in before the crowd hit. It was beautiful weather and not many people were there. It was a perfect day. OMF had a train to ride, petting zoo with deer, sheep, goats, ponies, cows, bunnies and much more. Emma did great in petting and feeding the animals. She didn’t ride the pony, but I really didn’t think she would. The farm also had slides, swings, sand mountain, a pool, ball pit, etc. It was the coolest place to go. Brooke and I kept saying we were so surprised we hadn’t been there before. We can’t wait until our next visit!
FYI-On the slideshow, my camera lens wouldn’t open the whole way, so those pictures are a bit messed up, but you still get the idea!
