1.  Transition Emma to big girl bed.  That was pretty easy!
2.  Potty Train…..YEAH RIGHT!  Emma has no interested, so I don’t either
3.  Get rid of paci….I’ve decided that having it only at bed time isn’t so bad.  Plus, I need my down time too.
4.  Hire someone to paint the common areas of the house.  Well, after have 3 painters give me prices, I decided I could do it myself.  I have painted the dining room, half bath, hall by half bath, living room, kitchen.  I have the entry way and stairs to do then the whole downstairs will be painted.
I am very proud of myself for this.  You may ask when I do this…..Nap time and after Emma goes to bed at night.  I haven’t painted a bit if Emma is up!  GO ME!  I will have the whole house painted by the end of the summer if I continue at this pace.  Below are pictures of my accomplishments.  I know the pictures may not show the color exactly.  I promise they look good.  I also still need to do the touch up on the ceiling, but I’m going to do that all at one time to save washing the brush between each.  I know I will have to touch up each room.  I’m not a perfect painter.  I’m actually very messy!

THE BREAKFAST ROOM-we still need curtains.

  THE KITCHEN

THE LIVING ROOM – It is a tan color.  This picture isn’t good for the color.

DINING ROOM- Two toned – The back inset is the same tan as the living room, half bath and will be the rest of the common areas.

Summer Fun 2008

Here are some pictures of Emma enjoying the warm weather we have had in Texas.  I think she gets in a swimsuit everyday.  Here are some cute pictures of Emma enjoying the summer. For more photos, go to Emma’s photos, Summer Fun!

This weekend we traveled 4 hours to Clifton to surprise Granny B (or K-B as Emma calls her) with a birthday party.  We left Friday after Emma’s nap.  The trip was great.  Emma did a wonderful job riding in the car.  She didn’t pitch any fits there or coming home.
When we got to Clifton, we stayed in a hotel for the first night, then surprised Granny B on Saturday morning.  Throughout the day the rest of the Barrs brothers arrived.  We had a great time hanging out and catching up.  Emma loved playing with Bellamy.  They ran around, played with ball, read, swam in a pool and had a lot of fun.
The Barrs’ brothers had a great time having an Ice Cream Competition.  There were 5 different ice creams made.  The winner was Bruce’s Lemon Ice Cream.   It was a lot of fun watching the grown men acting like boys.
The weekend was great.  To see photos, go to Emma’s photos, KB Party.

Big Girl Bed…

Yesterday Emma and I worked on switching her bed to a big girl bed.  She was so excited.  Needless to say nap time wasn’t going to happen, because it was a different bed.  She did a great job last night sleeping.  At both nap and bed time she never got out of the bed.  She stayed in and just yelled for me.  I’m so proud of her.  We also went to the store and bought her a comforter for when she transitions to the full size bed.  She was so excited we had to lay it out yesterday for her cuddle in.!

Tonight Emma graduated from her Winter/Spring gymnastics class.  Emma learned so much in the semester of gym.  The main thing that happened with Emma is her confidence level has gone way up.  She has become more outgoing and friendly.  She will go to people and feels more comfortable.  She has also learned several gymnastics skills; forward roll, scales, pull overs on the bar, bear walk, galloping, singing, sign language (sing, jump, bubbles, run, and more), how to climb, walk on the beam, spider walk and much much more.  I am so proud of everything she has learned.  She is quite the little gymnast.
