First Professional Haircut
Today I finally broke down and took Emma to get her hair cut by a professional. It was so shaggy and in her eyes I couldn’t take it anymore. I scheduled an appointment with Cool Cuts for Kids in Spring.Â
I thought Emma would cry and scream the whole time during her haircut, but she didn’t. She sat in the red firetruck and looked around the whole time. She did want to hold my hand during her haircut. She was squeezing my fingers very tight, but she never got upset. It was fun.

So Smart
Emma Claire is so smart. She can put this puzzle together. She can’t face them in the right direction, but she can match the pictures. I think this is pretty amazing since she has only worked with the puzzle a couple of days. She is so smart, just like her daddy!Â
Mosquito Bite
Emma has a real bad reaction to mosquito bites. Everytime she gets bit she welps up for several days. This time she got a mosquito bit under her right eye. It then ofcourse, grew into a complete shiner. It was so sad to see her eye so swollen and red, blue, purple. Everytime we went somewhere I felt I needed to wear a sign that said, I did not beat my daughter, she was bit by a mosquito.
(The second picture is right after her nap, so that is why her hair is crazy, but I love the sassy look on her face.)

Father’s Day
For father’s day, Emma decided to make her own wrapping paper. She got new finger paint and went to town. She loved making a mess and playing with the different colors. She even tried to taste it. I don’t think she liked it very much. The present turned out great, daddy really enjoyed it.
Emma was all about her daddy on Father’s day. She gave him tons of hugs and wanted to sit with him all night long. It was so sweet to see them loving one another. I’m so glad I got great pictures to treasure them forever.

Children’s Museum
Between Emma’s days at school, Nana and I decided to take Emma to the children’s museum. She LOVED the Tot Spot. She walked in a started playing with everything in site. She really liked playing with the different size balls and throwing them out of their area. She even walked on a bridge that was bumpy. This was the coolest place ever. Emma even played with another little boy on some of the toys that made sounds and had different textures. It was a lot of fun. After the museum, we had lunch with Daddy and then headed home. It was a great day!
14 Month’s Old
Last week-end Emma Claire turned 14 months old. She is so grown up. It is amazing how much she has learned to do over the last year. Below is a list of 14 things my precious angel can do and loves:
1. Has 6 teeth (three top, three bottom. All center and to the right)
2. Loves cheese, fruit, lunch meat, veggies
3. Goes to Mother’s Day out two days a week
4. Can understand most things you tell her
5. Pitches a fit when she doesn’t get her way.
6. Can feed herself with a fork.
7. Walks everywhere she goes.
8. Still has her bottle and paci (after we finish moving these will be gone.)
9. LOVES to help do laundry, load the dishwasher, and throw things away.
10. Plays well with other children
11. Takes one nap a day, noon to 2ish.
12. Likes to play outside, go on walks, swing
13. Talks constantly
14. Emma is such a big girl. It makes me sad how fast she is growing up. I’m amazed everyday at what she can do.
Pebbles at the Pool
This week I decided to let Emma go swimming again over at Nana and Poppy’s. She did a little bit better, but still didn’t care for it that much. THis was only Emma’s third time to go swimming in the big pool, so I wasn’t surprised for her dislike of the deep water.Â
Once Emma got out of the pool she made her way over to a safe spot so I couldn’t get her. Finally after bringing me a coke, she decided to have a tea party pool side with her mommy. It was a lot of fun. Pictures coming soon.
Hanging out with Poppy
Last week we spent the night over at Nana and Poppy’s. Emma LOVED helping Poppy fix a toy. She sat in his lap for 15 minutes watching him do his thing. It was so cute to watch them together.

Cold #1
Emma has gone to 3 days of Mother’s Day out and has her first cold. Thursday night, Emma woke up screaming and throwing a fit. I think it is because she couldn’t breathe and suck her paci at the same time. We sat downstairs, upstairs, everywhere. She finally cried herself to sleep at 3:30 in the morning and was up again by 6.
Friday night she had a great night! THANK GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!
Saturday was another tough night. We gave her some medicine before she went to bed. Unfortunately, around mid-night she woke up freaking out again. We tried everything, then finally put her in bed with us. She hogged the bed all night long. For her nap, I plugged in a Vicks Vapor night light thing. She has so far been asleep for 3 hours. Hopefully, she will have a good night tonight.!
