Emma’s pretty new dress
Thanks to Aunt Shelby, Emma had a brand new birthday dress to wear to church on Sunday. Shelby told me I had to take pictures of Emma in her dress so I did. She looked so cute in the dress. I LOVE it.

As you can see Emma was really bothered by her teeth that day(notice the tear in the second picture?). It didn’t help that I tried putting her in the nursery during church. It only lasted 10 minutes. I couldn’t stand the fact of her crying in there by herself. I don’t know what I am to do in June when she goes to Mother’s Day Out two days a week…We shall see.
3rd tooth
Tonight we learned that Emma’s third tooth sprouted from the roof of her mouth, no doubt causing her considerable pain! That dang thing is nice and sharp as well! I’m no dentist but it appears to be her top right I-tooth. Yes, that means she has two bottom teeth and an I-tooth, with NO front two teeth. Weird, but true.

Walking
Emma Claire is walking about 50% of the time. She is still trying to get the hang of it, but is going long distances. She will walk across the living room before falling. She has even gotten really good at walking over things and stepping on things. It is so neat to watch her walk and think how 12 months ago she just layed there. It is so amazing to watch them grow and develop.
First Birthday Party
On Saturday, April 14th, we had a family birthday party for Emma. It was yet another random cold day.Â
At one o’clock, the party started. Nana, Poppy, Nanny, Grandmother, Papa, Granny, Pop, Uncle Layne, Aunt Amanda and Morgan all came over to enjoy lunch, cupcakes and presents.Â
We started the party with opening presents because we weren’t sure how long Emma would last in a good mood and when she would want a nap. Emma opened a lot a great things; a ball popper, learning house, sit and spin zebra, Uniqua, a backyardigans cd, a cabbage patch kid with Emma’s birthday, pj’s, two dresses, Astro’s outfits, backyardigans guitar, and more. We immediately had to put the toys together to entertain Emma and Morgan.
After opening presents we ate sandwiches, Emma’s favorite. We had a tons of lunch meat, cheese, bread, fruit salad, etc. After lunch we sang happy birthday and Emma had a cupcake. She didn’t really care much for it, but once I took a bite, she was all about it.
We had a great first birthday. It was a wonderful day and couldn’t have asked for more!Â
Some pictures are posted under Emma’s photos, 12 months old.

Easter with the Barrs
(I know this entry is out of order, but oh well…)
On Easter Sunday, we spend the day with the Barrs family. We enjoyed the freezing day by going to chruch, stopping by Starbucks, then going to the Barrs house and enjoying a relaxing afternoon. From the Easter bunny, Emma got Happy Feet, Mumble the dancing penguin, a walking ball popper, jelly beans and chocolate. Emma enjoyed trying new foods and walking with her popper.Â
It was a great second Easter! More pictures will come soon.

One Year Old
Emma turning one was a very emotional day for me. I cried everytime I thought about her being one. All I could think of is what we were doing 365 days earlier. Emma’s arrival still feels like it was yesterday. I can’t believe she has changed and grown so much. To think she arrived in the world knowing nothing and now she knows so much. She is a very happy and healthy little girl.
Emma’s first birthday was started at 6:15 in the morning by her mom singing happy birthday and taking a picture of her. We then drove to Greenspoint in the rain to meet her Nana and Poppy. While we were waiting we received several calls and text messages wishing Emma a happy birthday. She is so loved.
Nana took Emma to IHOP for breakfast to enjoy pancakes for the first time. Since Emma can now have eggs, her food variety has grown. Emma LOVED the pancakes and a couple of bites of bacon. During the day at Nana’s Emma went swinging on the back patio to enjoy the finally beautiful day.
After work, Grandmother picked Emma up from Nana’s. We had quiche, cantelope, and biscuits for dinner. Sadly, Emma didn’t want any of it. We had a small cake and then headed up for her bath. Emma finished her birthday with a nice bottle of whole milk in Grandmother’s arms.Â
I think Emma had a great day. I can’t wait for the next 365 days to see how much more she grows and learns.
Emma’s one year stats:
Weight: 21 pounds (average)
Height: 29 1/2 inches (average)

Playtime with Ephram
Since the weather was so cold and rainy today, Ephram came over to play instead of going to the zoo. Emma and Ephram played, talked, crawled on each other and cried. It was so much fun. Hafida and I realized they are so alike. They make the same faces, fake cry, have the same sippy cups and more. It was so much fun. We can’t wait until next time! There are more pictures of Ephram and Emma playing under Emma’s Photos, eleven months.

Easter with the Yeagers
On Palm Sunday, the week before Easter, we celebrated with the Yeager side of the family. Travis, Emma and I went to church and then headed over to Grandmother and Papa’s to see Granny, Pop, Grandmother, Papa, Uncle Layne, Aunt Amanda, Morgan, and Logan (the new baby not yet born, but that is what I have named him….hint hint!)
The afternoon started with an Easter egg hunt. Emma and Morgan walked around the deck looking for the Easter eggs. After Morgan found 20, she decided to help Emma find some. Emma walked over to one, grabbed it and placed it in her basket. The rest she just wanted to look at. After the egg hunt, we all went inside to see what the Easter Bunny brought. He brought Emma and Morgan nap mats for school with matching, monogrammed backpacks, a Backyardigans toy, and a baby bottle to feed their Christmas baby doll. Emma tried some ham, baked beans, potatoe salad and fruit for lunch. She only cared for the fruit. The rest she just threw on the floor for Darby and Cheney.Â
It was a great day. Emma enjoyed her first Easter….She will have her next Easter on Easter Sunday with the Barrs Family! To view more pics, go to Emma’s Photos, 11 Months old.

Miss Personality…
Emma Claire has such a personality. My, my, my. Emma can now walk holding onto your finger. When you let go of her hand, she looks at you, sits down and does this fake cry or smiles. She CAN walk on her own, she just chooses not to. Emma has also started using her cell phones as real phones. She will put it up to her ear, tilt her head and blab on the phone. It is so funny. You can tell she has really been watching people talk on the phone. Another thing Emma does is now she says “huh”. On Sunday she started saying Huh, huh, over and over. You could say her name, she would look at you and say, “huh”. Candace and I couldn’t figure out where she got it from. Then we went to church. Someone called Travis’ name and his response was….”huh”.
She is so funny. She is a silly goose!
