Emma is so funny at night.  Instead of getting cranky or pitching a fit when she is tired, she just lays her head down, plays, lays her head down, plays, etc.  Finally after about 10 minutes of this she is ready for bed.  We pick her up, give our kisses and lay her in bed.  We hear from her at about 6:30 when we wake her up.  Below is a video of Emma’s routine.  Yes, Emma is squealing and laughing.  At least it isn’t at the top of her lungs.

Tooth number two is starting to come in.  Knock on wood, Emma has been great through this process.  Hopefully, it will continue.  We shall see.

EMMA FINALLY GOT HER FIRST TOOTH!  Nana felt a sharp stab when she reached in Emma’s mouth on February 20th.  You can barely see the three little ridges.  It is so cute!  Emma finally got her first tooth at 10 1/2 months old.

Last night Emma decided to help cook dinner.  We were having spaghetti.  She was very excited.  She talked and laughed and messed around while I cooked.  She also found the tuperware cabinet and decided to clean it out.  It was so funny.  She was having a great time.  Daddy didn’t like it that she had pulled everything out, but that is okay.  We will just have to wash the tuperware before using it.  I guess one day Emma and I will have to go to cooking school together.  Sur la Table here we come!

 

I took Emma out in the backyard for some 10 month photos.  They aren’t the best, but you can still see how cute she is.  We are working on getting a new camera.  Our current one doesn’t move as fast as Emma Claire does.

Emma is ALWAYS on the go.  She has gotten where she takes only a 2 hour nap during the day.  The rest of the time from 6:30-8:00 she is moving!  If Emma isn’t buckled in her carseat or high chair she is crawling, cruising, or climbing everywhere.  She can travel from one room to the next in no time flat.  She will also get into the things she isn’t suppose to be in.  She loves when you tell her no.  She thinks that word is so funny.  She will just laugh when you tell her no and keep doing it.  She is a silly goose. 

WOW!  Emma Claire is 10 months old.  I can’t believe how much she has changed, grown, and learned in the last 10 months. It makes me so sad to know she is growing up so quickly.  You always hear people talk about how fast children grow up, but you never realize it until you are in the situation.

Emma’s favorite game to play is chase.  Nana chases her around the house all day long.  She will crawl as fast as she can and just laugh.  It is so much fun to watch.  Nana can really make her laugh.  Emma also likes to take things away from you and then hand it back.  Except when she hands it back, she tricks you.  She will start laughing so hard because she really didn’t give it back.  Emma can also understand a lot of things you say to her.  She attempts to say Darby – Dade, Dada, Mama, Baba, etc. 

Emma has also gotten really good at throwing a fit.  If she isn’t doing what she wants and when she wants, the fake crying happens.  She will squeeze her eyes together, stick out her tounge and cry.  Then she will open her eyes a little to see if you are watching, and then do it again.  Cry, look, cry, look.  This can last from 2 seconds to 2 minutes.  It is so funny.

Emma loves Cherrios, bread, orzo, bagels, biscuits, anything that is a carb.  She is definately her mothers child.  Emma has gotten more interested in table food.  Before she would look at it and turn away.  Now she knows food goes in her mouth.  She is still a picky eater, but getting better…another trait she got from her mother.

Emma STILL doesn’t have any teeth.  I have decided she is going to turn one and still not have a tooth in her head.  We are starting a collection for her dentures.  If you wish to donate, please contact us!  I know she will get them one day, but who knows when.

Emma is very interested in everything around her.  She received a dinosaur that has holes that you place balls in.  She always bends over to see how the balls are coming out.  She also decided to place her toys in the laundry basket.  I guess she was ready to clean up her mess.  Emma is so very funny!
