Crawling

On November 29, 2006, at 7 1/2 months old, Emma Claire started crawling.  She was nice daughter and waited for her mommy and daddy to both be home.  We tried everything to get her to crawl, but she would refuse toys, the remote control, the phone, darby, etc.  We were finally able to get her to crawl after Travis’ Blackberry.

Today Emma was crawling after everything.  Her favorite was to crawl to Darby and get whatever Darby was chewing on.  She also crawled across the livingroom to get to Travis when he came home.  She is now a moving baby.  Click on the link below to see the video of Emma crawling!

Pictures

Some of you have been mentioning you can’t get a good size picture of Emma.  If you click on the Emma’s Photo link at the top of the web page you can see all of the pictures taken so far of Emma for her 7th month.  I will try to update this as often as possible.  This way everyone can see a variety of pics.

Sitting Tall!

This afternoon Emma was laying on her tummy and moved to a sitting position all by herself.  This is the first time she did it 100% on her own.  We all cheered and clapped at the wonderful event.  I’m now wondering if she will have a desire to start crawling??  Who knows.

GO EMMA CLAIRE!  Such a big girl.

Emma has also started saying Mama!  I was so happy to hear it.  I know she doesn’t know that I’m Mama, but it is still exciting!

I was very thankful and blessed that I was able to spend the whole week with Emma Claire.  It has been such a long time that we have spent nine days in a row together.  Some big things happened during the week.

At the beginning of the week, Emma decided that she could move out of her blanket and sleep positioner at night time.  We now have nothing in her crib, but a sheet and baby.  Emma has now slept for 11-12 hours a night.  She hardly cries out at all.  She has decided sleeping on her tummy is the most comfortable.

Emma has also learned to sit from the laying position.  We kind of have to help her get to all fours, but she can figure the rest out from there.  She is also able to pull up on people, her crib and the couch.  Today she went from laying to standing at the couch.  I think we are now in big trouble.  Emma still has no desire to crawl.  Travis and I decided to go eat at Outback the day after Thanksgiving.  Emma sat in the highchair like a big girl.  She also drank out of a straw with her kiddie cup of water.

Each day is a new adventure and a milestone accomplished.  I can’t wait until Christmas break to see what she will do in 3 weeks!  Well, I’m off to enjoy my last two days!!!

First Thanksgiving

Emma was an perfect little girl on her first thanksgiving.  After sleeping until 7:00 am we played for a couple of hours and then headed to Huntsville to go to Granny and Pop’s.  With only a 45 minute morning nap (half of it in the car) Emma let a lot of people hold her and she laughed, screamed, grunted and talked with everyone.  She didn’t take another nap until the car ride home.  She enjoyed meeting new people and playing with a piece of turkey that Uncle Layne gave her.  Don’t worry, she didn’t even put it in her mouth.  We had a great first thanksgiving.

Twins

At the Yeager house on Sunday Emma and Morgan showed up both wearing their denim overalls.  We couldn’t miss a photo opt with the twins.

On November 18th, we went to Reagan’s first birthday party.  Emma enjoyed shopping for his gift.  She picked out the wrapping paper and card.  Emma enjoyed being held by Jen, Jenn and Kena.  She was a good girl and played with the other children at the party.  She also had to take some pictures with my sorority sisters!  Maybe this is a sign that one day Emma will join us as an Alpha Chi Omega.  (Just don’t let her daddy know.)

7 Months Old

Emma is now 7 months old!  She is a very happy baby.  She really doesn’t get fussy unless she is tired.  Emma is getting over her social anxiety.  I think she went through it early.  Lately she has let Papa, Grandpa, Nanny, Ronnie, and several others hold her.  Emma LOVES to stand and walk.  Of course we have to hold her hands, but she will just take off before you know it.  She is trying to pull up on people and things.  I think she thinks she is older than she really is.  We have now moved to stage 2 foods.  She isn’t a big vegetable person, but we are working on it.  She really loves her cereal and fruit.  Emma still does not have teeth and who knows when she will get them.  We are in no hurry.  Maybe she will get one before her first birthday.  Emma makes a variety of noises.  She is constantly “talking” to everyone and everything around her.  We go to the doctor on November 20th for her 2nd flu shot, so we will get her weight then.  Until then…
