Busy little girl
Now a days Emma is a busy little girl. Nana says she very rarely takes naps anymore. There is just so much going on she is afraid she is going to miss something. Emma loves eating her cereal. We can’t spoon it in fast enough. She sits there with her mouth wide open waiting for the next bite. She has also really gobbled up her green beans. This week coming up we get to start eating fruit with our dinner. I’m interested to see what she likes and dislikes.Â
Emma’s has a great personality. She has started doing this fake cry thing. If she isn’t happy she fake cries until she is moved or gets what she wants. She is still very active and curious about the world around her. You can’t really hide anything from her because she will find it. Her favorite toy is still her yellow cow. She also loves to hold on to her burp clothes and bury her face in them when she is tired. She can take her paci in and out of her mouth. She chews on it more than sucks on it. She occasionally likes to put it in her mouth upside down.  Â
Emma and Nana do so much during the day, Emma crashes at 7:30 each night. We hardly ever hear a peep out of her until about 6:15 the next morning. She is a great night time sleeper. Travis and I aren’t use to her sleeping so soundly, so we occasionally wake up paniced.

5 Month photo session
I took some 5 month pictures of Emma. The first one is my new favorite! I know the second one is kind of blurry, but it is hard to get a picture when she is sitting still. She was trying to balance as I took the picture.Â

5 Months Old
On September 10th, Emma turned 5 months old. She is now eating cereal like a champ. She opens and smacks down before you have time to put the spoon in her mouth. She has also tried all of the orange vegetables; squash, carrots, and sweet potatoes. She liked the sweet potatoes and carrots, but wasn’t sure about the squash. We will reintroduce that later.
Emma is now very opinionated (I don’t know where she gets that from!). She knows what she wants and when she wants it. She reaches for the toys she wants, rolls over from back to front and occasionally front to back. She can sit by herself for long periods of time. She is also a talker; she will scream with excitement, hum herself to sleep or talk to you like she knows what is going on.Â
She is our pride and joy. She is so amazing. She learns new things everyday and changes right before your eyes.  Before we know it, she will be grown up. We are in no hurry for her to do the next step. She is the perfect daugher!
Here are some pictures of Emma in her first A&M t-shirt. She didn’t wear it for long because she drooled all over it, but she was cute while it lasted.Â

Welcome back Aunt Lindsey
Aunt Lindsey came home to visit for the Labor Day weekend. She was amazed at how much Emma has grown. Emma went straight to Aunt Lindsey with no fussing or issues. She loved hanging out with her on Thursday, Sunday and Monday. Emma even cried when she had to tell Aunt Lindsey good-bye. Christmas is to far away!

So Big
Now that Emma is almost 5 months old, she is trying all sorts of new things. She loves being in her exersaucer and sitting with the help of her boppy. She even tried out the jumparoo today. Emma is constantly rolling over from her back to her tummy. It is impossible to keep her laying on her back. Luckily, she still stays swaddled and placed in her sleep positioner at night, so we haven’t had any issues there. Emma is trying to move. Her legs are going ninety to nothing when she is on her tummy. She now grunts when she wants something out of reach. She has learned to pull on the blanket to move items closer. This weekend she was able to swing in a big girl swing at Grandmother and Papa’s house. She loved it. I think Papa is her new best friend–as long as she can swing. She LOVES to be outside swinging.Â
