Going to school

On July 28th Emma, Grandmother and I went up to my school to get some things set up.  She did some sleeping and playing.  She was amazed by all of the people and colors in the building.  I’m not quite sure if she enjoys school yet.  I think she was bored, because of the amount she slept.

The past couple of weeks, Emmas hasn’t been feeling well.  She has been having some bad tummy aches.  I was letting her lay down on her blanket and stretch out, when Darby came along.  Darby didn’t like the fact that Emma wasn’t feeling well, so she decided to lay down next to her and take care of Em.  What a good big sister!

This afternoon we got home from family lunch at the Yeager house.  I decided for Emma to have some tummy time.  She had pushed herself way up and was kicking her legs really hard.  I yelled for Travis to come watch her.  Right when Travis sat down to watch Emma, she rolled over.  It was very quick and easy for her.  She went from tummy to back in the blink of an eye.  We then decided to get the camera to video it if she did it again.  Travis kind of helped her a little bit, but not much and she rolled over again.  It was so neat.  She is growing up so fast!

On Monday, the 17th, Emma was standing on my stomach.  I started laughing at the way she was grunting, like she was working so hard.  She then just started laughing.  It was like she was laughing from the very bottom of her stomach.  It was so cute.  Travis and I just started cracking up even more.

Playdate with Lucas

On Tuesday, July 11th, we went to visit Melissa and Lucas.  Lucas is 5 weeks younger than Emma.  At the beginning of the visit they were to busy eating and dozing to notice one another, but after a couple of hours they began talking and looking at one another.  One would talk while the other would listen and vise versa.  It was really funny.  They also decided to arm wrestle.  Emma even decided to suck on Lucas’ arm.  I guess she though it was her own since it was near her mouth.  They had a good time.  Emma came home a crashed after a busy day.

3 Months old

On July 10th, Emma turned 3 months old.  Emma is doing a lot now a days.  I am shocked at how much she has changed since she has been born.  She has an opinion on everything; burping, the way she sits, when she wants to sleep, etc.

Emma Claire is doing a great job at holding her head up.  Her favorite position to be in is in someones lap looking outward with her back at your arm/armpit.  She can look around at everything that is going on and the T.V.  Emma is also holding herself up with her arm when she does tummy time.  She gets frustrated after about five minutes, but we still work on it.  Em has also been sleeping through the night since June 20th.  She goes to sleep about 9:00 and wakes up about 8:00.  This will obviously change when school starts, but I’m sure she will continue to sleep through the night.   She is also constantly talking.  I”m sure this will continue for the rest of her life!  It is so funny to watch her talk to things and then stop and listen.

Emma is a perfect baby and a joy to our family.  We love her so much.

Tummy Time

Emma has gotten where she enjoys tummy time a little bit better each day.  She gets frustrated easily because she actually has to work at something…Here is a pictures of Emma from this mornings tummy time.  She is really good at holding her upper body up with her arms.  At the same time her legs are moving non-stop!

4th of July

July 1st and 2nd, we traveled up to Livingston to go to the lake house.  Emma enjoyed being held by her Grandmother, Aunt Amanda, Uncle Layne, Nana, Grandpa, Granny and Aunt Amy.  On Saturday Emma was a very tired, so she was in a “I want my mother” kind of mood.  Sunday she did a lot of sleeping as well, but was in a much better mood.  We also took our annual pictures with the red, white and blue hat Uncle Layne found many years ago.

On July 4th, Nana, Nanny and Grandpa came over to eat and play games.  Emma enjoyed sitting in her bouncy chair watching her mom win at Scrabble!!!  After Scrabble Emma decided to sleep through Encore.  We took some pictures at the end of the day of Emma in her red, white and blue halter outfit.  She was a very tired, but we got them.

Chatter Box

At 11 1/2 weeks Emma decided to find her voice.  She will say an “oooooo” and an “aaaaagggoooooo” sound constantly.  She does it a lot when she is laying under her jungle gym/playmat and talking to Pete the Parrot or Sally the Circle.  She tells them all about her day and what has been gonig on.  She is so silly.  She even talked to Aunt Lindsey in California on the Sunday morning phone call.  I think we have a problem with the amount of talking she will be doing.  I already sense she will be in trouble for talking when she starts school.
