On Tuesday, June 27th, Amanda, Morgan, Emma and I headed up to Huntsville to spend some time with Granny and Pop.  The ride was fun.  Morgan would sing and talk to Emma.  She cried when she couldn’t see her, but was happy once she could look at Em.  Morgan kept her hand on Emma’s carseat to make sure she was okay.

Emma took a good nap on Pop’s bed while we ate.  Once Morgan was down for her nap, Emma decided to wake up and eat.  After eating she enjoyed sitting with Granny and playing under her jungle gym.    It was a fun day.  Everyone enjoyed themselves!

Baptism Day

On Sunday, June 25, 2006, Emma Claire Barrs was baptized at Atascocita United Methodist Church.  She was joined by her family and some friends for the wonderful occasion.  Emma was a good girl.  She drank some of her bottle during the music and slept during the sermon and the actual baptism.  Dr. Rev. Carolyn McCall walked her around the sanctuary show little Emma off.  Several members of the congregation wanted to take her home with them.

After the service we had a wonderful lunch and fellowship time at the Barrs’ house.  We ate delicious food and talked a lot.  Emma slept through the majority of the day, but I think she enjoyed meeting her family from out of town.

Once we got home from the busy weekend, Emma was very cranky and tired.  She didn’t want to take a nap because she was used to all of the excitement.  Finally, she couldn’t last any longer and just crashed.

It was a great weekend and we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

GOOD NEWS!!!

Not that I want to get my hopes up are anything, but at 10 weeks old, Emma has slept through the past two nights.  She goes to sleep about 9:30 and doesn’t wake up until about 6:30.  I would love it if she will do this every night.  We are about to change her routine by staying at my parents for two nights, but hopefully it will not effect her sleeping.  My hopes are not up yet!!!

After viewing a friends black and white photos, I decided, I had to do my own.  I’d been wanting to go get Emma’s pictures professionally done, but haven’t had a chance.  I took some pictures of our little baby and turned them into black and white or soft color.  Enjoy!  The first three of Emma in her baptism dress.  It is a Feltman Brother’s long white dress.  The last picture is of “Sisterly Love”.

On Saturday we celebrated Father’s day with the Yeager family.  Granny, Pop, Papa, Grandmother, Layne, Amanda, Morgan, Travis, Emma and I went to Chuy’s to eat and open gifts.  It was a lot of fun and weird seeing two highchairs at the table.  OUr family has gotten so big!  Saturday night we celebrated Father’s day just the four of us, Travis, Emma, Darby and myself.  After Emma’s bath she decided to give Travis the gift she made (help make).

On Sunday, Nana, Nanny, Grandpa, Travis, Emma and myself celebrated Father’s Day at The Melting Pot.  Emma was very impressed with the restaurant, she stayed awake the whole entire meal.  After leaving, Nana, Nanny and Grandpa brought Emma home and got her ready for bed and fed her dinner.  She loved falling asleep in Nana’s arms.

I was blessed to work for two days with Travis’ recruiting company, so Emma was able to stay with Grandmother and Papa for two days.  Grandmother picked up Emma and Darby at 8:30 at Outback and they brought them back on Satuday about 12:30.  She did lots of staring at the flowers on the couch, sleeping, eating and staring at the leaves in the backyard.  Since we don’t have leaves, she enjoyed the time.  Grandmother says Emma knows what a camera is, because everytime she would bring it out, Emma’s smile would go away.  Silly little girl!

On June 13th, Emma Claire had her 2 month doctor visit.  She weighs 9 lbs 13 oz and is 23 inches long.  She also received 4 shots, two in each thigh.  She cried, but only for a little bit.  We were also given the news that she may have developmental dysplasia of the hips.  We are scheduled for an ultrasound on June 14th.  Hopefully, we can take action before anything is to serious.!  This could be could be from an ackward position in the womb, tough birth, or hereditary.  We will find out soon.

After returning home from the doctor Emma was taken care of by her big sister, Darby.  She also did a lot of sleeping.  I guess the shots made her tired.

**The ultrasound results came back normal.  All is well with Little Miss Emma! :)

Going to the Doctor      Darby is taking care of Em

On Saturday, June 10th, Emma’s two month birthday, Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Matt got married.  Emma wore a beautiful handmade black, white, and green dress that matched the wedding colors.  Emma’s Nana and Nanny worked hard to make the dress fit little Em.  She looked wonderful and the bride thought it was great.  Emma was able to meet several friends and family members.  Everyone thinks she is a gorgeous little girl.

8 Weeks Old

On June 5th Emma turned 8 weeks old.  She is more alert than ever and is CONSTANTLY talking.  Papa asked if she should go to the doctor for the amount of noises she makes.
She loves to play under her new jungle gym that we borrowed from Layne and Amanda.  She will stare at the parrot all day and talk its ear off.   Emma is also holding her head up at a 90 degree angle.  We occasionally try sitting in the Bumbo seat to work on more head control.   She also has started pitching a fit when you take the bottle out of her mouth to burp her.  It is actually quite funny!  I guess she thinks we are going to make her starve???

Darby loves to sit next to Emma’s changing table while we are changing her diaper or clothes.  She will sit and whine until we are finished.

The first of June, Emma stayed at Nana and Grandpa’s for 2 nights.  She did a lot of sleeping the first day and was more awake the second.  She loves to sleep at their house.  She enjoyed laughing at her grandpa and talking to her new Lambchop.  On Saturday they dropped Emma off back at home to see her very anxious parents who missed her so much.!
