7 weeks old :)

On Memorial Day, Emma turned 7 weeks old.  She is a very active and alert little girl.  She will follow you with her eyes and turn her head in the direction of familiar voices.  She is constantly smiling at everyone that talks to her.  She has also started to grow out of some of her outfits and pajamas by length.

Emma had her first trip to the lake house on Lake Livingston.  We arrived Saturday about 10:00 and stayed until Sunday about 4:00.  Emma enjoyed hanging out with everyone.  She did a lot of eating and sleeping (as usual).  Aunt Lindsey even volunteered to give Travis and I the night off and take the 2:00 am feeding.  GO AUNT LINDSEY!  :)   Emma enjoyed seeing Morgan again and being held by numerous people.

Morgan (11 months) and Emma (1 month) are still getting use to one another.  Morgan is learning to be gently.  Emma sleeps the majority of the time, but I know one day they will love playing with one another and fighting over toys!

Six Weeks Old

Monday, May 22ne, Emma turned 6 weeks old.  It is amazing how different she is.  She has become very opinionated and active.  Her arms and legs are constantly moving along with her mouth.  I keep telling Travis, we are going to have major problems with her talking in school.

Emma has also started smiling more at people.  I can talk to her and her whole face lights up.  It is so cute.  She has also started grabbing anything around her; toys, noses, lips, shirts, etc.  She is changing everyday. :)

First Night Away

Saturday was Emma’s first night away from home.  Travis and I dropped her off at Grandmother and Papa’s house for the day and evening.  She spent the majority of the visit sleeping and eating.  She loves sleeping at their house (edit by Dad: she loves sleeping everywhere but her house).  On Sunday Nana and Grandpa picked her up and we’re all having lunch.

Very Busy

Emma had a very busy weekend.  She had her first bath in her bathtub Saturday night.  I think she likes them better than the sponge baths, plus they are a lot faster.  She is still a little small for her tub, but I’m sure she will grow with time.

Sunday Emma attending church for the first time.  She did great through the music, but once the sermon started she decided she was ready to eat.  Travis and I took her to one of the empty Sunday school rooms and fed her.  We returned after the sermon was over.  I guess Emma liked the music the best.

Emma getting ready to leave for church!

On May 10th, Emma Claire turned one month old.  She is a complete joy.  Emma isn’t fussy very often and is starting to sleep longer at night.  I’m ready for the day she sleeps all night, but 5-6 hours is great for now.

Emma is very alert and has started to notice things around her and smile at them.  She will stare at Darby forever.  She will play with her sensory cube and hit it.  It is amazing to see her change everyday.  Time flies by so fast, I’m just trying to treasure every second!
